2019 Black History Month Book Drive
Support our K-12th grade school students. Please donate new and used books on Black History, Black Culture, Black Americans, and by Black Authors. We will donate the books to a local high school, middle school, and elementary school in Humboldt County. Our goal is to collect 300 books!
Book Drop Off Locations:
KHSU Offices (located in the Wagner House at HSU)
The African American Center for Academic Excellence (HSU)
Humboldt County Office of Education, Main Entrance (901 Myrtle Street in Eureka)
Arcata Library (Front Desk)
Temple Beth El (3233 T St, Eureka)
Saunders Grooming Lounge and Supply (219 2nd St, Eureka)
or at any of our Black History Month events!
We want to thank Tina Sampay, HSU Alumni and journalist (Slauson Girl) for coming up with the idea for a community book drive last year and enriching the learning environment of our students by increasing Black voices in Humboldt school libraries.
